Urban Still Lifes
2012 - present

This is a photographic diary of my walks around Madrid, a city that obsesses and repels me equally. Armed with my camera, I go for a walk through neighborhoods I've never been to while trying to find lyricism in those improvised scenes that populate the metropolis. A container of yogurt spilled on the road, a can of Mahou left on a bench at the park or a pile of unlit cigarettes in a corner become small pieces of stories that I will never know. Who interacted last with these objects now abandoned? How did they get here?

“Urban Still Lifes” is an exploration of the city; a reflection on those everyday stories that go unnoticed in the blurred space that separates the private from the public.
